I'm working on a new website on which I can post sets of family pics so all the family can see them without my having to burn CDs, and mail them out.
Also there will be, of course, a portfolio of my portraits, that anyone can explore to see if they like my style of portraiture.

Photographic Assistant

I have just replied to a begging letter!

A young woman who has just completed a diploma in photography wrote to me asking for a position as an assistant photographer. I am really sorry not to be able to help her, since I am, what I call "semi-retired"

As she rightly observes "a diploma is more about technique rather than real experience".
I can fully relate to that, at least in portrait photography, where the technique required is minimal, but the social and artistic skills are far more important. And the only way to acquire those skills is by following the example of an experienced portraitist.

Opening my Blog

I thought it might be fun to occasionally blog my activities in the world of portraiture.
These days, my subjects are mainly my family, but since I have three gorgeous grandchildren, I think I have every excuse to concentrate on them. I hope you, reading this, agree
